We are excited and honored to welcome back Dr. Nicholas Cost as a guest speaker at the Testicular Cancer Conference 2018. Dr. Nicholas Cost is a assistant professor, surgery-urology at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Dr. Cost’s interest in testicular cancer has guided his training and career development. Testicular cancer is a disease that affects boys and men of all ages. For that reason, after completing his residency in Urology and Urologic Surgery, he pursued fellowship training in both urologic oncology (cancer treatment) and pediatric urology. This allows him to provide care to children, adolescents, and adults with testicular cancer at both “adult” and “pediatric” hospitals. I am involved with testicular cancer both as a clinician and as a researcher. My particular areas of focus include: Robotic surgery for testicular cancer, testicular cancer in adolescents and the Long-term effects of testicular-cancer treatment. Dr. Cost’s additional clinical interests are in cancers and tumors in children, adolescents, and adults. Specifically kidney tumors (Wilms Tumor, Renal Cell Carcinoma (RCC), Angiomyolipomas(AML)), Testicular and Para-testicular tumors, and Pelvic Tumors (Rhabdomyosarcomas). This additionally includes patients with tumor predisposition syndromes such as von Hippel Lindau, Tuberous Sclerosis, and Birt-Hogg-Dube. His training in both urologic oncology and pediatric urology has prepared me to care for these patients of all ages and can see them either through Children's Hospital Colorado or through the University Hospital. Dr. Cost is also interested in the use of minimally invasive surgery (robotic-assisted laparoscopy, laparoscopy, single-site laparoscopy, and endoscopy) for all variety of urologic conditions. Within other areas of Pediatric Urology, he is interested in Ureteropelvic junction obstruction, Vesicoureteral reflux, and Urolithiasis (kidney stones).
