Nimesh Patel, Comedian, Spreads Awareness and a Laugh of Testicular Cancer Diagnosis
Nimesh Patel, a comedian and writer, brings light and a laugh to the reality of being diagnosed with testicular cancer. He felt pain in his right testicle and ended up going to the hospital at 3am. At first, the doctor thought it was benign. After further tests, they found it was testicular cancer but thankfully it was caught early.
We thank Nimesh Patel for sharing his story in a way that people can relate to and feel comfortable hearing because testicular cancer has a certain amount of stigma and taboo associated with it. As Nimesh says, "men, check yourselves" which is the best way to finding testicular cancer early. Please see our resources page for further information https://www.testicularcancerawarenessfoundation.org/tc-resources
He was immediately admitted to surgery to have his right testicle removed. Surgery went well and he is now cancer free. He currently shares his story through what he does best, comedy. You can watch his comedy special "Lucky Lefty OR" here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2Rdh82XGrY
